A Beautiful Day in January...

Today was a gorgeous day and after much housework, the kids and I finally got outside to enjoy it.  And as much as I wanted Matt to get the trampoline put away for the winter before the first snow, today I was glad he ignored my gentle reminders (or nagging) and left it up because the kids really enjoyed playing on it.  And I loved being able to cook dinner in the kitchen while the kids played on the deck, enjoying the beautiful day we were blessed with today.

This last picture shows one of the things that I really love about photography. 

Whenever I see this picture, I will remember this sweet moment with my girls

and not the two minutes earlier when they were arguing about something or other.  :)

 

Prayer Reminder...

This 'praying mantis' was at our house the other day. 

Matt and the kids were excited to see it. 

I was too sick to even step out on my front porch

so Matt took some pics of it for me. 

He was huge!

I figured, he would serve as a good reminder

to be in prayer continually.

 

 

Snow Day...

Just when I was beginning to think I wasn't going to get any snow pictures this year, we got a beautiful snow!

 Of course, the only snow around here

that hasn't melted by now is the bowl full

in our fridge that Jade is just dying

to make into snow ice cream!

A Year Ago...

Here is what we were doing yesterday---
It was a beautiful day!!!  I had on short sleeves and no jacket.  Layla found a cotton-tail and was pulling it apart and letting it fly through the air, telling me it was 'snowing'.  As you can see in the last two pictures, the sun was shining so brightly, the girls couldn't even keep their eyes open for a picture.

Here is what we were doing one year ago---
It was a blizzard.  Matt was off work for a week (University closed!).

While I'm enjoying the extremely mild winter we've been having, it would be nice for Matt to have a paid week off of work right about now! :)

36 Missouri Hours...

Missouri weather may be crazy but I can't imagine living anywhere else!  Here is what we did on Tuesday afternoon...

 And this is what was happening overnight Wednesday...

Can't believe it was the second week of January before we got any snow to speak of!
