Pregnancy #4...

My due date is now only 30 days away (and only 25 days until my original due date)!  In some ways, it feels like I've been pregnant forever.  I mean, with this long winter doesn't June seem like forever ago?  But at the same time, I can't believe how soon I'll be holding baby girl in my arms!  Yikes, I better finish finding all the baby things and getting them ready and Matt and I actually need to decide on a name for her!

{Today, @ 35 weeks and 5 days}

I have had lots of morning sickness this pregnancy.  I mean a lot!  (So, I am going to spend a very long time telling you about it so you will feel sorry for me. :)  Actually, I think I just want to write it down so the next time I think I want to get pregnant, I will have something to remind me of how fun pregnancy can be :))  And, of course, not just in the morning, but at various wonderful times throughout the day and at night.  In fact, the other day Mason (who is 1 1/2) saw/heard me gagging and brought me a plastic grocery sack for me to throw up in.  That's how common place my puking has been around here this pregnancy.  Looks like its gonna last the entire pregnancy but at least its not as bad as it used to be.  The first part of my pregnancy, I felt good.  I was even able to visit my sister and family in Guatemala in the beginning of August without any morning sickness (the only times I threw up were from motion sickness in the car while driving in the mountains).  What a blessing it was to be able to enjoy that time without having to worry about the nausea!  But, by the end of August, I had it bad.  I started off just getting sick a few times a day.  We went out on Layla's birthday and I started off feeling ok, but by the time her party was over that night, I'd already thrown up several times.  And then I didn't leave the house for over two weeks.  I was so nauseous, I spent the entire time either in bed, on the couch, or in the bathroom throwing up (5-10 times a day, so definitely over a hundred times in those two plus weeks).  It was miserable!  The only reason I finally did leave the house was because I had my doctor's appointment and I was desperately hoping she could give me something to help.  I had a lot of nausea with my last two pregnancies but nausea medicine made all the difference.  This time, it only mildly helped.  I was able to get off the couch but still very nausea throughout the day and still lots of vomiting for the next 10 weeks.  And it was always worse when I left the house.  Almost every single time I got in the car or was at my parents house or church, or wherever, I threw up at least once.  I didn't drive a car for over two months.  And then, on the last day of October, all of the sudden I had a good day.  Out of the blue, I had little to no nausea.  Finally, and end to the morning sickness.  Or so I thought.  It was actually just a 3-week break before the nausea returned but it had improved so it was more manageable.  I still get nauseous and vomit several days a week, but I get over it pretty quick.  I have heard that women who are nauseous throughout their pregnancies are likely to throw up during delivery so I have that to look forward to, but I figure this morning sickness stuff is almost all behind me now.

Baby Girl is so very active!  Matt got to feel her move for the first time on Thanksgiving and she has not slowed down since.  She is a wiggle worm!  And lately she's gotten the hiccups often.  At a recent check-up, she apparently didn't want her heart rate checked and kept moving away from the monitor or kicking hard enough to move it.  Doing my fetal kick counts is a breeze!  She is still riding very high and likes to bump into my ribs.  And if you want to know how it feels to bend over and pick something up, just stick a basketball above your stomach and give it a try.

The girls are so excited for her arrival.  Jade, being the oldest and most patient, has gotten to feel her kick a lot and got to feel her hiccups the other day.  Layla has felt her kick, but the other day when I asked her if she wanted to feel the baby kick she sweetly responded, "No, thanks."  She is always praying to help baby to come out of my tummy soon, though.  Mason is clueless.  When I say anything about the baby in my tummy, he usually wants to show me his belly button or find mine.  But I guess he'll figure it out soon enough.  He LOVES babies so I think he's going to spend less time being jealous of me holding the baby because he wants to be hold as opposed to being jealous that I am the one holding the baby and not him!  But we shall see.

Looking forward to sharing pictures with you of our baby girl in the next month or so. <3

My Last Official Birthday?...

That's right, I turned 29 on Sunday!  It was a wonderfully blessed day!  Church was followed by a Mexican Fiesta at home that lasted through the afternoon (as my family get-togethers often do), Skyping with my Sis in Guatemala (always bittersweet cause I LOVE seeing her but am reminded of just how much I miss them!!!), and a relaxing evening with my hubby and kids.  Not to mention dinner with my in-laws the next night, birthday shopping the week before, and the sweet birthday wishes in person, in cards, on the phone, in texts, and of course, from Facebook!  Thanks, everybody!  You making getting older something to look forward to. :)

The beautiful cake my Mama made for me
Layla loves to change her clothes several times a day, thus the beautiful Christmas dress she was wearing for pictures :)
Singing & Spitting on the Cake (Thanks, Mom, for not making me blow out all 29!)
Mason was trying desperately to make me drop him, but I didn't!
More pictures with the kiddos (Matt was taking the pictures).
Gotta love Layla's 2-year-old 'smile' face.
I was so blessed and spoiled!
And, fyi, 'Little Women' (Christian Bale version) is THE greatest movie of all time!
I just recently read the book to Jade and love getting to share something that is my favorite with her!
Also, as you can see, Jade was more than happy to help with the presents!
Matt even worked hard on the house the week before even though he had a busy week at work.  My kitchen received the much-needed new paint job as well as other things around the house like putting up my new curtains.  Not to mention helping clean and cook my birthday lunch.  (Thanks, Babe!)  He also majorly upgraded my SD card for my camera!  If you thought I was picture crazy with the 4GB card, just wait to see what I can do with the 32GB card!  I am also now working on this blog with a computer monitor about twice the size of my old one.

Matt helped my put this on the kitchen wall.  Growing up, my Mom had it on a plaque in our kitchen and I love the reminder of gratitude as well as the childhood memory. (The memory of the plaque more so than all the dishes I had to wash by hand :))
The only downside was my sweet little man choosing to wait until my birthday to break my heart by finally saying his first word, but choosing DaDa.  I guess he thought that also choosing my birthday as the day to take his first step would make up for it, but while it did help soften the blow, he and I are still on the mends.  He has said DaDa a thousand times since and just tonight, FINALLY, said MaMa.  But that's enough on him for now, more details coming on tomorrow 9 months update.
Only 361 days until 30!

Goodbye Long Hair...

I finally decided to go through with chopping off my hair.  It had gotten pretty long and since it was almost always in a ponytail, it seemed like time.  Plus, it feels so good and looks so shiny after its colored.   I got enough taken off to donate to locks of love.  I was spoiled by getting to drop all 3 kids off with my big brother, Larry, and get a hair make-over from my sister-in-law, Jessie, and even got to run by Target before I came home. :)
