Sweet little moments...

Everyday hold sweet and funny little moments and unfortunately I am so quick to forget them. :(  But here are a few recent ones that I never want to forget...

 
Jade
-"Later, I want you or Mommy to read the Bible to Layla about sinning." Daddy: "Oh, really? You think she'll understand it?" Jade: "I don't know, but she needs it!"
-Referring to a picture in the hallway of Matt giving me a piggy back ride when back when we were engaged, Jade was asking about when it was taken. "When you first got married? Cause you weren't so heavy then."
 

Layla
-"Mom, this is how we doctor you.  Second, we give you a shot.  Third, we put you to sleep so you won't feel it.  And then we sew up your stomach to get the baby out and then sew it back."
-"I think we should name the baby Charlie (from Good Luck Charlie) or Foofa (from Yo Gabba Gabba).
-"To fight monsters, I bit them.  Do you do that, too?"
-"You know you can't watch this, right?"  Me: "Why's that?"  Layla: "Cause its for kids...(long pause) But you can watch it anyway."
-"I really like your pocket.  If I find something gorgeous, I will put it in there for you."


The other day I was scratching Matt's back because its practically his favorite thing in the world and Mason reaches over and starts gently scratching him, too. 


This morning, while I was still asleep, Baby Girl was kicking Matthew in the back.  Just her way of saying, "Good morning, Daddy!"

Layla's 'Cool Trick, Cool Trick!'...

I was just working on organizing my blog and ran across this blog draft that I thought I had posted a while back, but I guess I never actually got around to publishing it, so here it is now...

 

 

Layla recently discovered that she can touch her nose with her tongue

and has excitedly been showing people her 'cool trick.'

However, it should come as no surpsise that she is able to do this.

As a newborn, she was always sticking out her tongue

and we teased that it was too big to fit in her mouth. :)

Seriously, have you ever seen such a tongue? 

I didn't know it was acutally possible to touch your nose with your tongue,

but she has proven it is.

 

P.S.  She is quite proud of this ability and will gladly show you if asked. :)

Bubble Gum Face...

Both of my girls have always loved when I blow bubbles with my gum. 
But this little guy, well, he is definitely not a fan!
This is seriously what he does everytime I blow a bubble.
It freaks him out and I have no idea why.
 

Don't worry, after a few pics, I spit out the gum and left him alone.

They Make Me Smile...

My kids entertain me.  Once in a while, they say the sweetest, cutest, or funniest thing.  Jade is constantly blowing us away by her questions and depth of understanding (especially when it comes to Biblical concepts that she seems too young to understand).  Layla is often funny, sometimes when she's trying to make us laugh and something when she isn't trying at all.  And Mason.  He may only be 6 months old, but he already knows how to fake cough when he wants attention.

This morning Layla told me she watched Boos Cues and Fancy Girl (aka Angelina Ballerina).  Later today, in the car, Layla and I were listening to "This Little Light of Mine."  When it got to the "Let it shine 'til Jesus comes..." part, she said, "That said Jesus is gonna come.  What's that mean?"  After I explained to her that one day Jesus is gonna come back and take those who love Him up to Heaven with him, she responded, "WHOA!"

Jade and I had this conversation the other day...
You look like you're shrinking, Mom.
What do you mean?
You're going back in.
You mean losing weight?
Yeah, maybe because you don't eat much candy or chocolate.

I am hoping Layla becomes more sympathetic as she gets older, but for now, she really thinks its funny when I fake cry.  (Yeah, I'm not that good, so she can definitely tell I'm faking)  One day the girls and I were teasing each other and Layla made a sarcastic remark to me and then asked, You gonna cryyyyyy, Mommy?
